Dairy by-products, such as whey, sludges, and wastewater, are nutrient-rich but often contain sterilising agents and detergents.
This initiative aims to transform these dairy wastes into bio-based fertiliser through a dual process.
A pilot facility will produce and refine the fertiliser, which will undergo thorough testing in both controlled and real-world settings.
The project aims to achieve a nutrient recovery efficiency of at least 30%, setting a new standard for sustainable agricultural practices.
